The BWT Bestmax Premium filter cartridge is used for the decarbonisation and professional treatment of cold water. Its sophisticated filter system effectively reduces the limescale content and the total hardness of the tap water. Filtering the tap water is essential to protect connected appliances such as espresso machines, coffee machines, steam cookers or ice cube makers from harmful limescale deposits. Furthermore, filtration ensures a significantly improved taste and aroma of the water. This is because, in addition to limescale, particles and negative odours and flavours, such as chlorine, are also removed. This gives the food prepared with it a high sensory quality.

The difference to the normal BWT filter cartridge is that the water is additionally enriched with valuable magnesium. The water passes through a total of five filter processes in the cartridge. This is to guarantee optimum water quality. In the first step, the raw water flows through the inlet into the lower part of the filter cartridge. There, the smallest dirt particles are removed via a pre-filter. Finally, the water flows through a last particle fine filter, which is installed in the outlet of the cartridge.

The filter capacity of a filter cartridge is about 4300 litres at a carbonate hardness of 10°. However, the maximum filter capacity depends on your water hardness. You can determine this with our test kit. You should change the cartridge as soon as the maximum flow volume is reached or the 12th month is exceeded. The filter cartridge is also very easy to use. It can be installed both horizontally and vertically. The water stops automatically when the filter is replaced.
